Tests, tests, and more tests. The professors want everyone to know where they stand because Monday is the last day to drop/add courses without a grade. We're far enough into the semester that some classes are having their second round of tests.....the storm before Spring Break, which arrives in 10 days.
No matter....it's head down, grind away, keep the focus on the goal, and illegitimi non carborundum.
Last night, while studying for a programming test, a few new friends popped up on FB. Full of questions, curious, but slightly embarrassed, they were taking the first few steps into a world that is taken for granted by their children....most of whom are active participants in the new social web, a phenomenon so rapidly evolving that the Wikipedia reference just linked to doesn't even mention Twitter.
It's a world I've been thrust into over the last two years, as I have come to realize that communication with my classmates has to be conducted on their terms and in their comfort zone. By embracing their norms, I have, to some extent anyway, become a part of the generation. Words, terms, concepts, even beliefs; I feel like a chimera....a creature made up of different parts of different animals, not clearly belonging to a particular species.
In many ways, the feeling is liberating and exciting. It's a good thing.
Or maybe your old car looks like it could do with some rejuvenation. Whatever the case, a car paint job is not a small investment.
